Housekeeper

We are looking for a full time Housekeeper to ensure that all bedrooms and Hotel facilities are maintained to the highest of standards.

Main Responsibilities:

  • To clean and service rooms within the required timescales ensuring company standards and procedures are applied
  • To make sure that the new COVID-19 cleaning procedures are followed at all times
  • To complete and sign the cleaning checklists for each room and give them to the HSK office by latest end of shift.
  • To carry out routine and periodic cleaning in allocated areas, as directed
  • To ensure the correct use of cleaning agents on all surfaces as directed
  • To practice the correct use and care of equipment, such as vacuum cleaners, trolleys, etc and to report any malfunctions of such equipment immediately
  • To report any maintenance issues, damage, or wear and tear
  • To reject linen that does not meet required standards and record daily to ensure the quality of our linen remains high
  • Clean your allocated section of the corridor daily and vacuum it
  • To ensure anything left in a room is labelled correctly and handed in as lost property
  • To pack your trolley and caddy at the end of your shift and ensure all your equipment is clean and tidy
  • Refill chemicals and clean your bucket at end of day
  • Ensure your service room is kept clean and tidy at all times and all rubbish is removed daily
  • Ensure all rubbish is disposed of correctly
  • To respect Do Not Disturb bedrooms. Report them to Supervisor / Line Manager on duty
  • To report any departures that have not left by 12noon to Supervisor / Line Manager on duty
  • To report any misuse of bedrooms by guests to Supervisor / Line Manager – i.e. smoking, damage
  • To take on any guest requests as required and instructed by Head Housekeeper and/or HSK Supervisors

Safety & Security

  • To ensure all Health and Safety procedures are adhered to at all times
  • To ensure safety of staff and guests by correct use of equipment
  • Ensure you understand all COSHH regulations and use only company supplied chemicals and cleaning materials as instructed
  • To wear the allocated COVID-19 PPE at all times as required
  • Keep secure all cleaning materials and equipment issued
  • To report any safety hazards to Management
  • To know and carry out responsibilities in the case of fire and as an individual under the Health and Safety at Work etc. Act 1974

 Customer / Client Relationships

  • To interact with guests and customers in a polite and friendly manner and keep guest disturbance to a minimum

Communication

  • To maintain good interdepartmental communications, ensure teamwork and positive relationships with co-workers and management

 General

  • To have a good knowledge and understanding of all hotel facilities, outlets and services available
  • To co-operate with Management and assist with any reasonable request
  • To maintain a presentable appearance at all times, conforming to uniform requirements and to ensure a high level of personal hygiene
  • To attend and contribute to periodical meetings and training when necessary
  • To maintain the highest standards of confidentiality
  • To act as an ambassador of the company at all times promoting awareness of the company’s services and good reputation

Spa Therapist

We are recruiting a qualified Spa/Beauty Therapist to join our Spa team in providing a range of high quality treatments. The Spa at Old Thorns specialises in Germaine de Capuccini face and body treatments, OPI manicures, pedicures and gel polish, Sienna X spray tan, eyelash extensions plus waxing and tinting treatments.

Main Responsibilities:

  • To provide a range of health and beauty treatments to the highest standards
  • To be aware of and promote all treatments and any promotions on offer
  • To be responsible for equipment, products, cleanliness and hygiene of the treatment areas
  • To provide cover on spa reception as required
  • To ensure the high levels of customer service are delivered at all times

Knowledge, Skills & Experience Required:

  • Hold a recognised beauty or spa qualification, minimum NVQ 2 or equivalent
  • Smart personal presentation
  • Good interpersonal skills with a polite, friendly and approachable manner
  • Work well within a team

Head Housekeeper

We’re looking for a Head Housekeeper to join the team at the Old Thorns.

We are recruiting for a full time Head Housekeeper, reporting to the General Manager to ensure the smooth running of all Housekeeping operations across the Old Thorns resort.
As Head Housekeeper you will manage a large team and ensure all public areas, 160 bedrooms, 51 apartments and glamping pods are presented to an exceptional standard.

Main Responsibilities:

  • To ensure that all areas within your responsibility are cleaned and maintained to a high standard and that routine checks are completed
  • To ensure that accommodation is turned around within the required timescales
  • To lead, inspire and motivate a large team and ensure they are working to company standards at all times
  • To recruit, manage, train and develop the Housekeeping team
  • To manage the day to day operations of the department 
  • To ensure that work schedules produced in line with business levels and that these are monitored and adjusted accordingly
  • Responsible for inventories, stock takes and ordering to ensure sufficient par levels are maintained and budgeted costs are managed
  • To ensure all day to day legal requirements are met in relation to health and safety and employment regulations (i.e. COSHH, Risk Assessments)
  • To control costs in line with budgeted levels

Knowledge, Skills & Experience Required:

  • Have a previous management experience within a 4 star Hotel environment
  • Be efficient, organised and have excellent planning and communication skills
  • Be able to comply with company standards and procedures
  • Great people skills, able to nurture, develop and lead a team
  • Able to demonstrate sound administrative and IT skills
