Mr & Mrs Collins

Congratulations Mr & Mrs Collins!

We are so excited to be sharing with you, a Q&A and selection of stunning images of Anna & Craig's beautiful wedding taken by Andrew Adams from Whiteley Weddings during their wedding here at Old Thorns.

We asked Anna & Craig to answer some questions for our Real Weddings Q&A, and here's what they had to say:

When did you get married?
4th June 2023

What room did you get married in?
The Hampshire Suite

Why did you choose Old Thorns for your wedding?
We chose Old Thorns as we wanted everything in one place. We wanted accommodation on site for our guests. We loved the idea of having the Hampshire Suite, where it is self-contained, with its own outdoor space, bar, snug, ceremony area, and wedding breakfast area. It was the perfect size for our wedding numbers. We wanted a relaxed wedding for our guests to have fun and that's what we achieved.

What was your favourite moment of the day?
We loved being taken on the golf course for our photos and the fact our guests had no idea where we had gone, until they'd eaten all the canapés and cocktails but hadn't seen us in a while. Our food was perfect, and guests allergies and dietary requirements were accommodated with ease.

What did you love about your wedding day?
The pre wedding team were fabulous with their organising and emails. The team on the day were fantastic at taking charge of everything, subtly making sure everything was just as it should be. We didn't need to worry about anything. The Little Details Company were fabulous and decorated the rooms beautifully, I would definitely recommend future couples to hire their services.

Our photographer was the lovely Andrew Adams from Whiteley Weddings, who did his job so expertly, I had no idea where he was stood! He made us feel like it was our wedding, not his! (I know some photographers take charge, and it's all about them and their photos, not the wedding party/guests!)

Ashley from Cakey Bakey did our fantastic cake that just appeared without us having to worry about it! So beautiful and delicious.

Micah (Mrs Bouquet) of course was amazing and my bouquet was much admired for its colours!

Any tips for future couples?
Lists, lists, lists! A tick off the list means stop worrying about it!

In the days after the wedding, write notes of things you remember. Photos will only capture some things, but won't capture your mum telling the bridesmaid off for pinching chocolates or the fireworks the night before or things people say to you or bride's garter falling down or losing hairbrush etc etc etc!

Have breakfast, it's a long time until food is served again

Have "nosecco" rather than prosecco when bridal party is getting ready with her team. Alcohol, minimal sleep, and light breakfast before ceremony doesn't make for a good combination! You don't want the bridal party to be slozzled!

Delegate as much as possible to others to do (like put out confetti or place names) it's a busy morning for bridal party.

Remember to smile and enjoy the day. It goes so quickly

Don't expect to spend more than 2 minutes with anyone

If bride wearing heels, suggest heel protectors for golf course photos

Don't forget to eat the cake!

Enjoy, enjoy and Enjoy!
