All spa bookings require full payment at time of booking. The lead booker is responsible for the entire reservation, all payment and correspondence to be made by lead booker only.
Cancellation policy

Spa Overnight Breaks
Cancellations made more than 30 days in advance of arrival date will be charged administration fee of £35 per person. Cancellations made between 30 and 7 days 50% of total cost. Less than 7 days 100% charge.
Spa Days
All cancelled bookings with more than 48 hours’ notice will be subject to a 10% fee of the total amount. If less than 48 hours’ notice of cancellation is given you will be charged 100% of the total booking fee.
Spa Treatment Only
Cancellations made within 48-hour notice or for non-arrivals at allotted time, will be charged in full.
No refunds either in part or full can be processed for early departure.
Reservations may be rescheduled with 48 hours’ notice, subject to availability. A new reservation date must be given at the time of rescheduling, or it will be considered a cancellation and any prepayment is lost. Once moved the booking is moved it will become completely non refundable and will not be able to be moved again.
Third Party Reservations
Third-party bookings must be amended or cancelled through the original agent. We are unable to amend, cancel or refund reservations made via third parties e.g. Spa Breaks, Spa Seekers, or Hotel & Spa Breaks. Please contact the party with whom the reservation was originally made to discuss the terms of your booking.
Terms and Conditions
Old Thorns Spa has a strict over 16’s policy. When booking a spa package, please note all spa guests must be aged 16 or over. No individuals under the age of 16 will be permitted to attend.
If you are staying on a Sunday Night or on a Bank Holiday your inclusive treatments will be taken on the following day. Bank Holidays are charged at the weekend rate.
Please be aware when staying on a Sunday night, the dinner included will be a carvery option.
Use of Facilities
Enjoy complimentary use of Elevation Health Club during your stay with us. This includes full access to our impressive gym, 20m pool and wellness facilities.
Health Club & Pool Opening Times:
Monday - Friday: 7:00am - 8:00pm.
Saturday - Sunday: 8:00am - 7:00pm.
Spa Day Guests: Access from:
Monday - Saturday: 10:00am - 5:30pm.
Sundays: 9:30am - 5:00pm.
Overnight Spa Break Guests: Access from 10:00am on arrival day until 2:00pm on departure day.
Children’s swim times are from 10:00am - 12:00pm & 3:00pm - 5:00pm (daily, including weekends and bank holidays).
During peak times (weekends & school holidays), access to the pool may be limited to maintain safe capacity.
Please note that our gym and wellness facilities cannot be used by under 16s.
Pre-booking is not required for pool and wellness suite use. Hotel guests have access to the pool and wellness suite from check-in on the day of arrival until check-out on the day of departure. Guests booked onto one of our Spa Break packages (with treatments included) can access the facilities from 10:00am on the day of arrival until 2:00pm on the day of departure.
The use of these facilities is on a first come, first served basis. Our team have put measures in place for the use of facilities to be as fair as possible. However, there is no guarantee of availability, and no financial reimbursement will be available for these facilities being unavailable or fully booked.
Some facilities may not be available during your visit, management reserve the right to close facilities without reimbursement.
Spa Access & Facilities
Spa package guests enjoy exclusive use of the relaxation lounge and spa sun terrace (weather dependent).
Facilities include a gym, swimming pool, sub-tropical pool, and wellness suite.
Lockers are provided; luggage can be stored securely at reception.
Valuables: Please do not bring valuables; the spa accepts no responsibility for loss or damage.
Robe Hire Charges
For spa packages guests only. You will be provided with robes upon arrival to the treatment spa, we will require a deposit of £10.00 per robe for all spa package guests. This is refundable upon the return of the robe to the treatment spa reception. You will only receive one robe throughout your stay with us, an additional charge for any new robes required would be £10.00 per robe, subject to availability.
Non spa package guests may hire robes for a £10.00 charge per robe, plus £10.00 refundable deposit (subject to availability). Please be aware we will not be able to hire out any robes without the deposit.
We advise you bring your own suitable footwear to save throwing slippers in the bin after use. However, slippers are available to purchase at £2.00 per pair.
Please bring your swimwear for use in the wet spa facilities. Disposable briefs will be provided for body treatments if required.
Arrival & Check-In
We would ask that you arrive 15 minutes before your scheduled treatment start time to complete a medical form and to relax, unwind, and familiarise yourself with the surroundings, and that the treatment can commence at the allotted time.
Spa package guests should check in at the treatment spa to collect robes and get familiar with the facilities.
Accommodation check-in: 3:00pm | Check-out: 11:00am.
Treatments
Treatments are available for guests aged 16 and above (under 18s may not access the wellness suite). We do have male and female therapists. If you prefer not to be treated by a male therapist, please inform us before your arrival. We cannot guarantee therapist changes on the day, and refusal at the time of treatment will result in the appointment being forfeited without reimbursement.
Please note that the allotted treatment time includes time for consultation, changing and aftercare advice. Treatment time cannot be extended due to late arrival or toilet breaks during your scheduled treatment. If you arrive more than 5 minutes late for your treatment your treatment will be forfeited without reimbursement. Please ensure that you inform your therapist if you are too hot/cold, if your position is not comfortable or the therapist's pressure is not enjoyable. We will try to adjust techniques to suit you.
All treatment times are subject to change by the Spa at any time due to circumstances outside our control.
Treatment Preparation
• Nail Treatments: Remove polish or gel prior to appointment; gel removal available by pre-booking
• Facials: Remove make-up and contact lenses
• Cosmetic Treatments: Leave 4 weeks after microblading, semi-permanent make-up, Botox, or fillers before booking treatments on the same area Failure to abide by this may result in you forfeiting your treatment without reimbursement.
• Jewellery: Remove before treatments We do not accept any responsibility for lost jewellery.
• Accessibility: Notify us of any care requirements in advance to allow us to help you get the most out of your session safely.
Aftercare
Please be aware of the possible side effects following treatments/spa experiences which may include drowsiness, excessive thirst, muscle aches and possible minor reactions to essential oils.
Medical Questions
It is important that you advise us in advance of any health conditions, allergies or injuries which could affect your treatment when making your reservation. We will ask you to complete a medical consultation form if you are receiving any treatment.
Guests with any infectious conditions, known allergies or under medical supervision, that we are not advised of upon booking, may be refused treatment without reimbursement.
Valuables
Lockers are provided for your use; however, we recommend that you do not bring valuables into the Spa. We do not accept any responsibility for loss or damage of personal items.
Spa Etiquette
The Spa is designed to be calm, quiet, and relaxing and for this reason we ask that you respect other spa users by speaking quietly whilst in our relaxation areas. Any rowdy or loud behaviour in any area of the Spa may result in you being asked to vacate the premises. The treatment Spa is an adult only environment and open only to persons aged 16 and over. Abusive or inappropriate behaviour may result in removal without refund.
The management reserves the right to close any area of the Spa without prior notice for essential maintenance or on advice by the government to do so, without reimbursement.
